Privacy Policy
Effective October 17, 2026
This policy explains what information Pie Studios (keylimepie.work and its subdomains, including Geometry Quest, Pie Studios courses and lessons) collects, why, who it is shared with, and how you can see, change or delete it.
The short version
- You can use the courses without an account. Your progress stays in your own browser.
- We never ask for your real name, email address, phone number or location.
- Google shows ads on the site and uses cookies to do so. You can turn off personalized ads.
- If you make an optional account, your username, a scrambled copy of your password and your saves are stored in Google Firebase so they follow you between devices.
- We don't sell your information for money. Google's personalized ads may count as "sharing" under California law, and you can opt out (see California privacy rights).

1. Saved in your browser
The courses and lessons save things in your own browser using local storage and similar storage. This includes your XP, level, topic mastery, quiz scores, day streak, unlocked themes and topics, course progress, your light/dark setting and other display preferences (such as tab title and keyboard shortcuts). Unless you sign in to an account, this information stays on your device and is not sent to us. You can erase it with Reset all progress or by clearing this site's data in your browser.
2. Optional accounts
Some parts of the site let you create a free, optional account. If you do, we store in Google Firebase:
- your username and when the account was created;
- a hashed (scrambled) version of your password. The password itself is scrambled in your browser before it is sent, so we never see or store it;
- your saved progress for the courses and lessons, so it follows you between browsers;
- a short list of browsers currently signed in and when each last checked in, which limits how many browsers can use one account at the same time.
Firebase also gives each browser a random anonymous ID so the site can talk to the database. Choose a username that isn't your real name.
3. What other people can see
Some courses have online leaderboards, contests or multiplayer features. When you use them, your username and the scores, names or creations you submit can be seen by other users. Don't put personal information in anything you submit.
4. Pie Mail and chat
- Pie Mail gives accounts an
@keylimepie.workaddress for receiving email (it can't send mail). Mail sent to your address arrives through Cloudflare Email Routing, and each message, including the sender, subject and content, is stored in Firebase until you delete it. - Chat stores the messages, images and audio you post so the people in that conversation or server can see them. Messages are deleted automatically after 4 weeks, and images and audio after 24 hours.
Please don't share passwords, addresses, phone numbers or other private details in mail or chat.
5. Advertising
We use Google AdSense to show ads, which keeps the site free.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
- Learn more in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalized ads are shown, through Google's consent message. Some features may offer an optional short Google ad to unlock something. Watching it is always your choice. Google only tells the page whether the ad finished.
6. Other services we use
- Cloudflare delivers the site and may process your IP address and basic request information (such as browser type and the page requested) for security and performance. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Google Firebase stores account data, cloud saves, leaderboards, mail and chat, as described above.
- Google Fonts provides the typeface, so your browser requests fonts from Google's servers. See Google Fonts privacy.
- Some subdomains ask for a password. Entering it sets a cookie that only says you got in, and it is deleted when you close your browser.
These services may process information on servers in the United States and other countries.
7. How long we keep things
- Browser storage stays until you reset it or clear your browser's site data.
- Account data, cloud saves and received Pie Mail stay until you delete them or ask for the account to be deleted.
- Chat messages are deleted after 4 weeks, and chat images and audio after 24 hours.
- Leaderboard and contest entries may stay up for as long as the course or contest runs.
8. Your choices
- Erase local progress: use Reset all progress or clear this site's data in your browser.
- Stop syncing: sign out at any time. Your saves stay in your browser.
- Change your password: from your account settings.
- Turn off personalized ads: see Advertising above. Ad blockers also work.
- See or delete your data: contact the site owner and your account and everything stored with it will be deleted.
Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, UK or California) you may have legal rights to access, correct or delete your personal information. We'll honor those requests. California residents, see the next section.
9. California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
This section applies to California residents and gives the disclosures required by the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act.

We use this information to run the site and its features (saves, accounts, mail, chat, leaderboards), keep it secure and working, and show ads. How long each kind is kept is listed in How long we keep things. We do not collect precise location, government IDs, financial information, biometrics or health information.
Selling and sharing. We do not sell personal information for money. When personalized ads are on, Google and its partners use cookies and similar IDs to show ads based on your activity across sites, which California law may treat as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. To opt out of this sharing:
- turn off personalized ads in Google Ads Settings, or use the opt-out at aboutads.info;
- use a browser or extension that blocks third-party cookies or ads; or
- contact the site owner and we'll help.
We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.
Sensitive personal information. Account log-ins and the contents of mail and chat are used only to provide those features to you. We don't use them to infer characteristics about you, so there is nothing to limit, but you can always delete them.
Your rights. You have the right to:
- know and access the personal information we have about you, its categories and sources, why we use it, and who it's disclosed to;
- delete your personal information;
- correct inaccurate personal information;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, as described above;
- limit the use of sensitive personal information (we already use it only to provide the service); and
- not be discriminated against for using any of these rights. You won't lose access to any lesson, quiz or feature for making a request.
Making a request. Contact the site owner. Because we don't collect email addresses or real names, we verify a request by asking you to show you control the account (for example by signing in to it). Data that stays only in your browser never reaches us, so you can view or delete it yourself. You may use an authorized agent, who must show your written permission. We'll respond within 45 days, and may extend that once by another 45 days if we tell you why.
10. Children
The site is designed for students and a general audience, and the courses work without any account. We don't ask for real names, email addresses or other contact details, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal information, contact the site owner and it will be deleted.
11. Security
The site is served over HTTPS and passwords are scrambled before they leave your browser. No website can promise perfect security, so please use a password you don't use anywhere else.
12. Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
